AASHTOWare Bridge Management (BrM) 7.1 Patch Release

Since its release in August, we have been busy supporting agencies as they upgrade and start using the newest version of BrM, 7.1. If you have not already, please request access to the BrM 7.1 installation package through Mayvue via a JIRA service management ticket or by emailing support@mayvue.com. Links will be provided with all necessary installation files, database scripts, and other pertinent information to install and run BrM 7.1. Note that the installation and database migration guides are now available online and can be updated with user feedback and important lessons learned in real time!

Additionally, in response to recent requests for changes by FHWA, the BrM Task Force is planning to release a BrM 7.1 patch early next year. The release date is currently targeted for January 2026.

In addition to addressing FHWA’s requests, the patch release will allow us to resolve an issue recently introduced with the latest Chromium update. If you’re using a browser with this update, such as Chrome or Edge, you may have experienced intermittent user interface issues such as unresponsiveness or a blank navigation menu. Until the patch is released, if you experience these issues, please consider trying a workaround such as:

  • Use Firefox
  • Resize the browser window (drag the border)
  • If there is a table in a modal, sometimes interacting with the table fixes the issue

We will communicate more details about the BrM 7.1 patch as we near its release date early next year. If you have any questions or would like more information regarding this announcement, please respond to this email, or reach out to either of the contacts below.

BrM API Quick Start Guide

In our ongoing efforts to add value to the AASHTOWare OpenAPI experience, we will soon be publishing additional documentation to aid in the use of the purpose build calls released in BrM API v2 with BrM 7.1. The BrM API Quick Start Guide will provide valuable information such as step-by-step instructions on token generation, sample calls required to obtain common data (ex: bridge condition), and more. You will be able to access this documentation via the Help icon in BrM, just like you would the user manual. This documentation will continue to be updated over time based on user experience and feedback.

BrM 7.2 Development Update

The next major release of BrM, version 7.2, will be available to the user community in spring of 2026! With this release, the BrM user interface will be enhanced to adhere to WCAG 2.2 Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines, which is a growing requirement of member agencies. Additionally, BrM 7.2 will include an improved installation process and more enhancements such as Change History Tracking and integration with Open Telemetry, introducing a unified observability solution to monitor application behavior via logs, metrics, and traces. Finally, BrM 7.2 provides users with the top voted enhancement from the user group’s priority list – a BrM Clearance Module!

Development is well underway and we have completed 2 user walk-throughs to date. Recordings of these can be requested through Ryan Fragapane, AASHTOWare Product Director. Be sure to join us for the remaining two walk-throughs by registering at the links below:

Upcoming Webinars and Trainings

Don’t miss our upcoming webinar “How to Submit for SNBI” on Thursday, December 4th at 1:00 PM EST.

Zac Boyle, Principal Product Consultant at Mayvue, will demonstrate how to prepare your data for the SNBI submittal and submit to FHWA. Attendees will learn how to check the data for errors inside of BrM and how to address those issues. We will also demonstrate creating the submittal file and uploading it to the FHWA file checker. Register here and feel free to share the webinar link with others who may be interested. Additionally, we are in the process of creating a new Optimizer training series for BrM 7.x. The training will be broken down into shorter videos to allow viewers to pick and choose what area(s) of the pyramid they would like to focus on. Stay tuned for more information on our progress and when these videos will be released.

BrM Task Force Updates

We are pleased to introduce the newest member of the BrM Task Force – Cole Stump of the Alabama Department of Transportation! Cole is a great addition to our group and representative for our users given his vast knowledge of and experience with BrM as a user for many years, and his past service as Co-Chair of the BrM Reports and Dashboards TAG and BrM User Group Committee member.

We also want to welcome Janet Treadway from the Ohio Department of Transportation as the new SCOA liaison to BrM! Janet was previously the chair of the AASHTOWare Project Task Force and brings a wealth of AASHTOWare and DOT knowledge to our group.

We encourage users to reach out to any of the BrM Task Force members at any time for information, support, questions, etc.
