AASHTOWare BrM 7.0.2 API Release Announcement
Good afternoon,
This email is to make you aware that a BrM API release (7.0.2) is now available for download. The AASHTOWare Bridge Management Task Force recommends agencies upgrading to BrM 7.X move to this latest version as it offers enhancements to the API documentation and authentication to further support AASHTOWare OpenAPI. In addition to these enhancements, you can expect fixes for user-reported tickets in BrM’s next patch release, expected to be released to the user community within the next couple months.
You can upgrade straight to BrM 7.0.2 from BrM 6.7.1 or any previous BrM 7.X version. Agencies will need to run the updated install file and complete the database updates as described in the database migration guide document.
What’s Included?:
The BrM 7.0.2 release includes two API related updates:
- BrM API documentation enhancements including the below. These enhancements improve the readability and usability of the BrM API in AASHTOWare OpenAPI and provide a more intuitive experience for BrM API consumers. (BRMSD-9882)
- New description summaries for endpoints and parameters.
- Contextual remarks providing usage scenarios and edge cases for certain endpoints.
- The addition of return-type examples for all endpoints.
- Example request payloads to assist with forming new requests.
- The addition of a new Settings > Security > API Credentials screen in BrM that allows the user to generate a credential that consists of a client ID and a client secret, which are used to retrieve BrM API tokens from the API token endpoint. The API tokens are used to securely make API calls from Postman or AASHTOWare OpenAPI. (BRMSD-9883)
